Hewitson Baby Bush Mourvedre

(0)

There’s a great story behind this wine actually. About 15 years ago, Dean took cuttings from his gnarly ‘Old Garden’ block (that is thought to contain the oldest Mourvedre vines on the planet!) and made a new planting that was affectionally known as the ‘Baby Bush’ block. Sharing the DNA of its 160 year old parents, these new plantings showcase just as much of that classic Barossan Mourvedre (otherwise known as Mataro) style, with an almost endless flow of delicious meaty dark berry fruit. Dry-grown and famously low yielding, every grape from these vines is like a bullet of licoricey flavour. Red – Other Reds – Mourvedre
