The heat arrived in June, so that the end of the growing cycle was marked by high temperatures and a summer drought. Good weather in September and October meant that the fruit continued to develop, remained in the exceptional health that it enjoyed that year and was able to be harvested selectively once each vineyard had reached optimum maturity.
