The vineyard was first planted by Henry Best in 1866 and first indentified as 'Hermitage'. The Thomsom Family Shiraz was first bottled in 1993, 100 years after the Thomson family first settled in the area and is a wine of great concentration and balance. Thomson Family is only made in the exceptional years; the 2006 showing wonderfully lush and plush fruits with brilliant supporting acid and oak integration.
