From a cracking vintage in the Hunter Valley comes this elegant, medium-bodied shiraz. Boosted up with a little richer McLaren Vale fruit, this has the legs to cellar for at least a decade! Smells of dark cherries and savouriness float out of the glass, together with wafts of Chinese five spice and toasted vanilla. The palate is tight, taut and terrific, with lots of spiced fruit flavours, a kick of pepper, a subtle grip to the tannins, and a long, savoury-edged finish. Lovely stuff! Red – Shira
