We don’t see an enormous amount of Zinfandel in this country but it does excite us when we see it being done well. This is big and burly and comes from Cambrian soils in Heathcote that date back some 500 million years old. A really interesting wine style that’s lifted with berries, mint and gorgeously soft tannins. It needs food and really hearty dishes too, we suggest a big t-bone steak barbecued till charred on the outer but slightly bloodied inside. Red – Other Reds – Zinfandel
