This is an amazingly juicy number for an Italian, so much so it’s almost new wave! Made from a blend of cab sav, merlot, sangiovese and shiraz, it’s a fullsome wine that shows lots of plums, cassis, cherries and toasty oak on the nose, along with hints of dusty earth. The palate is quite full-bodied and rich, with a plummy heart, licks of anise spice, powdery tannins, and a decent fruit and vanilla finish. Roast lamb shoulder would be great with this!
