This wine could be seen as the ‘kid sister’ to the epic Salon ‘S’ Cuvee. It’s owned by the same people as Salon, and apparently some of the leftover fruit finds its way into this wine, but it’s a long way from sloppy seconds. Made from 100% chardonnay from Grand Cru vineyards, it shows lots of citrus and flowers with a kiss of spice and honey on the nose. The palate is tight, dry and explicit with stone fruits and lemon cheesecake – complete with crushed biscuit base – and a talcy, crisp finish.
