Malbec is a highly underrated variety, and it’s surprising we donlt drink more of it around the BBQ here in Australia ‘cos it would be great with some sticky beef spare ribs. It’s a densely fruited wine that sports smells of black and blue berries, dark cherries and spicy notes on the nose, whilst the palate is full-bodied and inky, with a juicy, earthy middle, solid tannins, and a mocha and toast finish.
