The concentrated aromas of apricot, dry spices and honey on the palate are the result of grapes that are affected by Botrytis cinerea. This shrinks the fruit and also contributes to the unique flavour of the Sauternes. The 2005 vintage of Château Lafaurie-Peyraguyey is yet another great example of the style.
