This Pauillac 1st Growth is often considered the ?wine of the vintage?, usually for its more flamboyant, overt showing, but there is little denying that Chateau Mouton-Rothschild comes with an incredible reputation, and a rightful place amongst the great wines of Bordeaux since elevation to the upper tier in 1973. While the impeccable estate is divided to 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, this wine sees 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Merlot from the phenomenal harvest of 2010. The wine is as gloriously perfumed and infinitely complex as expected, with the luxurious mouth-feel of great Mouton wines. Cellaring will be repaid from now to 60-or-so year. A must do for collectors of fine wine.
