Hailing from a single vineyard in the famed Gimlett Gravels sub-region of Hawkes Bay, this shiraz would be the perfect companion for game meats or spicy lamb chops. There’s lots of dark fruits and exotic spices on the nose, along with some appealing violet florals, then the more medium-bodied palate chimes in with rich plummy flavours, a decent lick of spice and savouriness, some fine and tight tannins, and a long, taut finish.
