High altitude wines (2,200 masl) from Rupestre Valley, Salta, Argentina, hand-harvested from 30-year old vines with sustainable farming.
Best served at 19°C
Enjoy with red meats, BBQ, pasta or cheese.
Tasting notes: Uniform red ruby colour. Very expressive defined aromas of red ripen fruits, charred wood and red capsicum. Refreshing tannins define its stimulating personality with a persistent finish.
About the winery:
The Domingo Molina winery is located in the province of Salta, 8 km west of Cafayate, in North Yacochuya. It lies on the Andean mountainside, overlooking the Calchaquí Valleys. Ranging from 1,600 to 2,300 meters above sea level, the vineyards enjoy a special microclimate with more than 300 days of sun, scarce rainfall, and a wide temperature range, all of which allow for excellent grape growing conditions. With vines over 100 years old, the Dominga Molina estate spreads over 60 hectares of desertic-alluvial soil.
With no available electricity, Domingo Molina are the only ones to farm in this location, using gravity fed systems to water the vines. Hand-harvested and carefully selected before the destemming and crushing processes, each lot is vinified separately, with different winemaking processes using sustainable farming and cellaring practices.
