This is a pretty solid style of red out of South Africa that would benefit from extra time in the cellar, or a decent decant before serving. Smells of ripe plums and blackcurrants climb out of the glass, along with hints of crushed leaves and earthy spices. The palate is fullsome and quite spicy, with a bit of grip to the tannins, a tight line of acidity, and a fruit and spice finish with a kick of toasty oak in the tail.
