The term ‘Meritage’ basically means it is a blend of Bordeaux varieties, mainly cab sav, merlot and petit verdot. This medium-bodied offering from Dry Creek is a super little wine at the price, for a yanky wine, and shows lovely aromas of dark fruits, anise spice, tobacco, cedar and smokiness on the nose. The palate is quite elegant, and only 13.5% alcohol, with plum and cherry flavours, fine evident tannins, and a tight, juicy finish. This will kick on for a couple more years, but why not crack
