Enrique Mendoza Estrecho Monastrell

Here we have a fuller-bodied, floral, fruit and spice number out of Alicante that will really come into it’s own with some barbequed meats. Plums, ripe blackberries, dried herbs and a touch of balsamic rise from the glass, whilst the palate is quite rich and fleshy, with summer pudding flavours, licks of mocha, a fine line of tannins, and long finish with a sprinkle of herbs at the end. It’s in the zone now, but will hold for a couple more years. Red – Other Reds – Mourvedre
