Fettercain was once a sister distillery to the Bruichladdich distillery but is now owned by Whyte and Mackay. Technically this is a highland malt as it sits south of Aberdeen outside the Speyside region. The scotch has grassy notes on the nose, with hints of malt and fruits. A touch of Sherry lingers and some nuttiness. The palate has an initial burst of chilli and malt with sweet and fruity notes, and a delicate warmth, with a rich dark chocolate edge.
