Guigal’s Côte-Rôtie has plenty of currant notes that leap from the glass, with hints of coffee, tobacco smoke, tapenade and spice box that open up on the nose. It is soft, fresh and elegant in a medium-bodied more Burgundy style than either the 2003 or 2005 vintages. Should drink easily for the next 10-12 years.
