Living life between the pale ale and it's big brother IPA, this is not the kind of middle child you neglect. Drinking drier than both, the piney bitterness and citrus notes are bold. Don't underestimate this family member. Victoria's Mornington Peninsula is well known for its plantings of pinot noir, but in the past few years it has also become something of a hotspot for boutique breweries. The brew-child of six passionate Peninsula locals, Jetty Road opened its doors for business in 2017 with a mission to take people inside the craft beer experience and make the enjoyment of a fine ale accessible to all. At just a year old, the pale ale was one of two Jetty Road beers to make the GABS Festival Hottest 100 Craft Beers list last year – which is undeniably impressive for a new kid on the block. If you're in the neighbourhood, you can pay a visit and sample the beers on tap, then linger over a grazing plate or a steak straight off the butcher's block.
