Kirin Fuji Sanroku Japanese Whisky is a 50% ABV Non chill filtered whisky produced at the Fuji Gotemba Distillery near Mt Fuji in Japan. Water quality is always a key component of whisky making. The water used at Fuji Gotemba distillery is taken from three underground bores that tap into underground streams which are 100 metres deep. Analysis has shown that the water used today fell on Mt. Fuji as snow 50 years ago. That’s how long it takes for the water to filter through the hardened lava.Tasting note: Brilliant deep gold. Opening sniffs suggest apple strudel, stewed pear, bubble gum and vanilla. Air contact adds hints of ripe corn / mixed grains. Understated on entry building to a juicy, vibrant, bourbonesque profile with creamy flavours of toffee apple, salted corn cob and pepper
