This is the ‘big dog’ teroldego red from Mezzacorona, and if you are a fan of big juicy shiraz or zinfandel you will enjoy this wine. Rich aromas of dark fruits and fragrant florals rise from the glass, together with spicy and vanilla notes. The palate is full-bodied, ripe and deeply fruited with licks of licoricy spice, slinky tannins, and a dry, fleshy finish. It would be awesome with a hearty tomato-based meat dish.
