Clare not only turns out excellent riesling, they do a pretty good job with medium-bodied reds, too. This offering from a good vintage and shows appealing, attractive smells of pepper and cinnamon spice, cassis, and a hint of deli-meat savouriness before the palate chimes in with a solid but fine thread of tannins, poised acidity, and a bit of richness to the long fruit and spice finish.
