Cannonau, otherwise known as Grenache has been grown on Sardinia for over 3000 years. This Passo Sardo version is typical of cannonau wines from the island with its dark, wild fruit, rugged rusticity and not so simple charm. There is plenty of interest in each glass with dried herbs, spices, licorice and chocolate all to be found. Medium bodied, robust, full flavoured yet smoothly finished, it is an ideal match for a ragu or other meat dish.
