Quinta Do Portal Tinto (Colheita)

Made predominantly from Tempranillo, this is a bold sort of wine that is no shrinking violet. There are lots of ripe black cherry and dark plums on the nose, together with some spiciness and toasty oak. The palate is quite full-bodied with fleshy, super-ripe dark fruit flavours, generous licks of oak, approachable tannins, and a lush, fruity finish. It would be ideal with a hearty stew.
