Quinta do Vale Dona Maria Douro

The red wines of Portugal are excellent, medium-bodied drinks that match an array of foods from cured meats through to game birds, and this one is very enjoyable indeed! Made from a blend of up to 40 native grape varieties, it’s a very pretty wine showing smells of dried roses and violets, along with evident dark cherry fruit and earthy spices. The palate is elegant and spicy, with a fine thread of tannins, poised acidity, and a smooth spice and savoury finish. Lovely stuff. Red – Other Reds – R
