For a wine that is 13% alcohol, this comes across as quite a rich number. Made from a blend of native Portuguese grapes, fleshy fruity smells of plums and cherries jump out of the glass, mingling with aromas of dark chocolate, earthy spices and some dried herbs. The palate is quite plush and juicy, with the plums coming though, along with the spices and herbs in the flavours. It’s all wrapped up in fine tannins, bright acidity, and a sweetly fruited finish.
