Bonarda is an Italian grape, and is the second most widely planted grape in Argentina. It has a few things in common with pinot noir, and this one shows some appealing black fruits, soft spices and earthy savouriness. The palate is medium-bodied and nicely fruity with fine, mellow tannins, poised acidity, and a nice spicy finish that would see it pair well with mushroom veggie dishes, or lighter lamb recipes. One for the slightly adventurous! Red – Other Reds – Red
