Malbec is probably what Ricardo Santos does best. This 2011 version is a fullsome, voluptuous style of malbec choc-a-block full of ripe dark cherries and plum jam, with hints of earthy savouriness. The palate is deep, dense and fruity, with a powerful black fruited middle, a touch of firmness to the tannins, bright acidity, and a long, succulent finish. It will cellar for a few years, or would be great with roast beef tonight. Red – Other Reds – Malbec
