This is seriously intense stuff from Sanchez Romate. It is so sumptuous and rich, it’s a meal in itself! Lush aromas of figs and toffee rise from the glass, together with dried fruits and licorice. The palate is sweet and thick at first, with mouth-coating flavours of molasses and dark chocolate, and an acidity that leaps in to refresh the palate and cleanse the finish. It’s epic with bread and butter pudding. Dessert/Fortified – Fortified Wine – Sherry – Pedro Ximenez
