Tequila Fortaleza Blanco is an artisan tequila made the old fashioned way in the heart of Tequila, Mexico. The distinctive bottle is hand-blown in Tonala, Jalisco by artisan glassmakers and the bottle tops, artisan designed and hand made/hand numbered. They represent the harvested heart of the agave. Artisan hand-crafted, stone-crushed tequila produced by Guillermo Erickson Sauza, a fifth-generation family member.Using the age-old brick oven, the agave is cooked for 36 hours. Then it is crushed in the stone mill called the tahona. The crushed agave is then washed with the pure mountain water from the Volcan de Tequila to separate the pulp from the woody fibres to create an agave juice called mosto.The woody fibres of the agave are removed and taken to the fields to use as compost. The agave mosto is then naturally fermented for five days in small wooden vats, and then double distilled using small, labour-intensive copper pot stills before being rested in American oak.The dis
