Ushers Green Stripe Blended Scotch Whisky measures 25.4 FL.OZ on the imperial scale and was produced in 1977. This particular bottle is a very rare bottle from Tennessee USA and shows the US Internal Revenue tax stamp seal and the Tennessee Liquor Paid tax stamp. As with all export bottles it contains the Green Stripe fake wax seal on the face of the bottle.Imported by and bottled in the USA for Brown Forman (owners of Jack Daniel’s) Distillers Import Co, New York NY.Andrew Usher was one of the first participants in the legal Scotch whisky industry after the introduction of the Excise Act in 1823 and had experimented with the blending of whisky in the 1840s. Later in his life, Andrew Usher’s mastery of blending created Usher’s Green Stripe. “The original light scotch”. Many other blenders quickly followed Usher’s desire to create a smoother, more mellow Scotch Whisky. Now famous names such as Ballantines, John Walker, and Whyte and Mackay sprung up during this time.
