Escensia is the result of leaving Monastrell grapes to dry out and raisin naturally on the vine. The result is a concentration of the sugars and the acids, without changing its balance. The nose is dominated by aromas of dried fruits, sweet quince, dried apricots and fig bread. On the palate the wine has an oiliness and concentration. Sweet but balanced by high acidity, at no point is it cloying or overpowering. Rich, chocolatety, a great wine worthy of the best desserts.
